GARO and Aimo Charge establish new charging station partnership for parking facilities in the Nordic region
GARO and Aimo Charge have entered into a partnership agreement for charging stations in the construction of new and the expansion of existing charging infrastructure in the Nordic region. This autumn saw the initial installations of GARO Entity Pro wallboxes in Sweden while the first half of 2025 will see the rollout extended to other Nordic countries.
Aimo is currently responsible for some 250,000 parking spaces distributed across more than 6,000 parking facilities with about 2,600 charging points installed. The company’s vision to transform the Nordic mobility sector entails taking a leading role in the transition to smarter cities and greener transport. And they hope to realise a dramatic increase in the number of charging points over the coming years. The wallboxes are integrated with the Aimo app via OCPP (Open Charge Point Protocol), enabling users to easily find available charging stations, monitor charging and manage payments directly in the app.
“Here at Aimo Charge, we want to make life easier for electric vehicle owners, which is why we always keep their needs in focus. We want to make a difference and aid the transition to fossil-free fuels. Our partnership with GARO provides us with charging stations that not only simplify people’s everyday lives, but also create business advantages for us as a company. GARO’s qualitative, cost-effective and reliable products, which work even in harsh Nordic weather conditions – a key consideration for charging solutions in the Nordic region – enable us to build charging infrastructure that’s sustainable both now and in the future,” says Joakim Andersson, Solution Specialist within E-mobility at Aimo Charge.
The EU’s ambitious climate targets require the keen involvement of a number of market stakeholders. As of 2035, all newly produced cars shall be emission-free and the source of zero carbon emissions. This is to ensure the transport sector’s carbon neutrality by 2050. Achieving this will require the expansion of charging infrastructure by stakeholders who own parking facilities, properties and other facilities adjacent to transport networks. It will also require that charging station manufacturers offer reliable products with long service lives. Actively expanding the charging infrastructure at Aimo Park’s facilities makes this partnership a concrete step towards achieving the EU’s climate targets for 2035 and the transport sector’s transition to fossil-free transport.
“Here at GARO, we’re pleased that Aimo Charge has chosen to partner with us, and our breadth within destination charging will enable us to work together to create simple and safe charging experiences everywhere, from large parking facilities to small housing cooperatives, thereby meeting the needs of different electric vehicle owners,” says Jonas Persson, Sales Director International Business GARO E-mobility.
