GARO launches Eichrecht-compliant wallbox for public charging in Germany
The wallbox GARO Entity Pro and our factory in Poland have been certified as compliant with the Eichrecht requirements.
GARO’s wallbox for public charging, GARO Entity Pro, has been certified compliant with the Eichrecht requirements. Accordingly, it is ready to be sold in the German market for semi-public and public charging. This development enables GARO to meet the demand from companies, housing cooperatives and commercial properties while also expanding its product portfolio within destination charging in the German market.
“We see great potential in Germany, with extensive market demand for effective, high-quality charging solutions, criteria that are perfectly aligned with GARO’s product range,” says Johan-Christer Svensson, Commercial Product Manager GARO E-mobility.
Any charging station or wallbox to be used for semi-public and public charging with a payment solution in Germany must comply with the Eichrecht requirements. These requirements mean that debiting must be based on the actual energy consumed for charging. The energy consumption must be visible to the electric vehicle driver, and a digital signed receipt must be issued for each charging session as confirmation. This new GARO Entity Pro model is specially designed for charging in semi-public and public places as well as at commercial properties. The wallbox meets all technical requirements set out in the Eichrecht standard and has been certified by an independent party. The GARO range already includes the Eichrecht-compliant LS4 and Twin+ charging stations, which are now joined by the GARO Entity Pro. Product sales will begin immediately.
“The further development of GARO Entity Pro broadens our position and paves the way for more growth opportunities for GARO E-mobility. We’ve also decided to seek Eichrecht certification for our factory in Poland this autumn to be able to calibrate our charging stations in conjunction with production. This will create an effective and sustainable value chain by eliminating the need for products to be certified compliant by third-parties before reaching the market,” says Niklas Rönnäng, Business Area Manager GARO E-mobility.
